DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, May 3. The national payment system Korti Milli continues to dominate Tajikistan’s bank card market, Trend reports, via the National Bank of Tajikistan.
As of the end of March 2025, Korti Milli accounts for the majority of cards in circulation across the country, maintaining a market share of 54.1 percent.
The system is followed by ExpressPay – Korti Milli, which holds 11.4 percent, and UnionPlay – Korti Milli, with 10.2 percent. These three domestically oriented systems together cover 75.7 percent of all cards issued nationwide.
Among international payment systems, Visa leads with a 14.6 percent share, while Mastercard follows with 4.7 percent. Other card types include local cards with 2.8 percent, Express Pay at 1.9 percent, and UnionPay, which holds a marginal share of 0.3 percent.
A total of 8.6 million bank payment cards were in circulation in Tajikistan as of March 31, 2025. This figure rose by 21.3 percent compared to the same date in 2024 (7.1 million bank payment cards).
