TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 29. The number of
Uzbek citizens visiting China amounted to 18,347 in 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that
this figure has increased by 89.4 percent year-on-year.
The most common reason for Uzbek citizens traveling to China was
tourism - 14,623 people. This was followed by family visits (1,908
people), business (1,021 people), studying (767 people) and medical
purposes (28 people).
Meanwhile, tourist traffic from Uzbekistan from January through
November 2024 totaled 5.7 million people. This figure increased by
31.3 percent (1.3 million people) compared to the same period last
year.
In general, the most popular tourist destination for Uzbek
citizens was Kyrgyzstan, with 2.7 million visitors. In second place
was Tajikistan, with 1.1 million visitors, followed by Kazakhstan
with 888,600 visitors.
