Cutting subsidies to producers and imposing global sanctions will lead to a 40 percent fall in the output of fish farms in Iran, director of the union of Iranian fish farmers Mohammad-Taqi Lashkari said.
The lack of supportive aid can decline the annual output by 40 percent to 60,000 tons, Mohammad-Taqi Lashkari told the ILNA News Agency.
Many problems with providing feedstock for fish appeared as a result of the sanctions, he noted.
Based on national development plans, fish consumption per capita should increase by 30 percent by 2016 to 13 kilograms per annum, he said.
