By stopping the broadcasting of Iranian radio and TV channels through Hotbird, Western countries are trying to silence Iran. However, they have only increased our audience, Iranian State TV Radio Company International Issues Deputy Chief Mohsen Sherefraz said, FARS agency reported on Tuesday.

Eutelsat has removed the broadcasting frequencies of Iranian radio and tv channels from Hotbird on Monday. Eutelsat has explained its decision to stop broadcasting 19 Iranian channels by the EU sanctions against Iran.

Sherefraz noted that Iranian channels have been eliminated because of their information which is different from Western channels.

"They have stopped broadcasting of our channels as the channels gave information on events in Middle East, on violations during protest marches in the United States and Europe. They will not be able to easily silence our voice, we will continue our activities in internet, phones and social networks," Sherefraz said.
