Tbilisi hosts two memorable events on the 40th day of the tragic death of Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his wife. The events are initiated by Georgian First Lady Sandra Roelofs.
The Varketili National Screening Center was renamed and named in honor of Polish First Lady Maria Kaczynska. Mrs.Roelofs opened a memorial plaque this morning.
The event to commemorate the late presidential couple will be held at National Parliamentary Library at 17:00 today and attended by representatives of the Georgian government and the diplomatic corps accredited to the country, as well as guests from the Polish Embassy. Mrs.Roelofs, Polish ambassador Ursula Doroshevsa and Vice-Speaker Gigi Tsereteli will speak at the event.
The Katyn 2010 symphony of composer Tamar Salukvadze will be performed at the event.
The photographs describing the Georgia visits of the presidential couple will also be presented at the evening.
