ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 11. Ashgabat remains the region with the highest number of registered Internet-banking users in Turkmenistan, with 280,462 users as of August 1, 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank (CBT) shows that Mary follows closely with 278,409 users, while Lebap recorded 268,308 users. Ahal accounts for 97,075 users, Balkan for 165,480, and Dashoguz for 132,298. The newly established city of Arkadag has 6,129 registered users of Internet-banking services.
Altogether, the total number of registered Internet-banking users across the country reached 1,228,161. This reflects ongoing efforts to increase digital access to financial services and improve convenience for clients throughout both urban and rural areas.
Established in 1991, the Central Bank of Turkmenistan continues to play a key role in developing the country’s financial infrastructure, including the promotion of digital banking platforms.
