ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 2. Chairman of the
Board of JSC NC "KazMunayGas" Askhat Khassenov held a meeting with
the CEO of the Chinese company "CITIC Environment" Lei Sung,
Trend reports.
The parties discussed the progress of joint projects, including the
operation of the seawater desalination plant (SWDP) of JSC
"Karazhanbasmunai."
"The design capacity of the SWDP is 17,000 cubic meters, which will free up a significant amount of water flowing through the main pipeline from Astrakhan to Mangystau for the needs of the region's population," said KazMunayGas in a statement.
In the course of the meeting, Khassenov emphasized the
importance of the plant achieving the required performance
parameters as soon as possible.
He also noted the long-standing fruitful cooperation of the
national company with Chinese partners on oil and gas sector
projects, expressing confidence in the continuation of mutually
beneficial relations with CITIC Group.
Another subsidiary of CITIC Group, CITIC Construction, is currently
the general contractor for the project to increase the capacity of
the Aktau Bitumen Plant (LLP "SP" CASPI BITUM) to 1.5 million tons
per year. This will allow the company to increase its production of
road bitumen from 500,000 to 750,000 tons per year. As a result of
the project, the domestic market will be fully supplied with
high-quality domestically produced road bitumen.
