Azerbaijan and Bavaria have great potential for economic partnership. We intend to use it, Bavaria's State Minister for Federal and European Affairs, Emilia Mueller, said at a press-conference as a result of the visit in Baku today.
"We also intend to open Azerbaijan's consulate in Munich. Its opening will be a catalyst in the development of bilateral economic relations and benefit both Germany and Azerbaijan. We will help for Bavaria to hold the day of Azerbaijani economy," she said.
She said that Bavaria plans to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the development of technologies to clean drinking water. Bavaria plans to participate in the tender for the installation of water treatment plants in more than 5000 Azerbaijani villages, as well as in the tender for cleaning of industrial waste.
Cooperation in the production of plastic and enamel was discussed during a Bavarian delegation's visit to Baku. Articles from compounds of aluminum and enamel will be relevant for Azerbaijan in future, she said.
"We have agreed on closer economic cooperation with the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO)", she said.
During the visit Bavarian delegation met with minister of environment, minister of education, minister of health, minister of economic development, the National Academy of Sciences president, SOCAR deputy president, deputy minister of agriculture.
The purpose of the Bavarian delegation's visit is to establish relations with Azerbaijan, which is Bavaria's partner with great potential. This year two Azerbaijani delegations visited Bavaria. She said that Bavaria plans to participate at the International Exhibition of Health in Baku in September.
At present, about 15 branches of Bavarian companies operate in Azerbaijan. About 29 companies have offices. These companies are Siemens, Man. Bavarian construction company Knauf is also represented in Azerbaijan. Knauf manufactures gypsum and cardboard items in Azerbaijan, which are used in the construction of apartment buildings.
