By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

During the eight months (from March 21 through Nov. 21) of this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), products worth $100 million were exported from Iran’s Golestan province, said Chairman of the Golestan Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Hossein Tolouian, Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.

Tolouian noted that 325,000 tons of products were exported during the reporting period.

During this Iranian year, exports decreased by 50 percent compared to the same period last year due to floods, restrictions in transportation and the ban on export of certain products, the chairman added.

“Presently, 16 types of products are exported to 33 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas,” Tolouian said.

The chairman noted that most of the products were exported to China, Iraq, the UAE, Turkey and Afghanistan.

Tolouian added that during the eight months, 21.1 percent of the province’s exports accounted for Iraq, 10.8 percent for the UAE, 10.3 percent for Turkey and 5.5 percent for Afghanistan.

The chairman said that given the province’s great potential in the agricultural and industrial sectors, exports can be increased.
