Iran has cooperation with foreign insurers, specifically those companies that do not have any relationship with the US, head of Iran's Central Insurance company said, Trend reports via ILNA.
“Reinsurance in Iran is implemented same as everywhere, according to international standards," Soleimani said, referring to domestic reinsurance activity and insurance coverage for refineries or shipping lines.
Speaking about the ability to cover the risk of Iranian refineries or domestic airlines through reinsurance and the ceiling of this coverage, he said that no specific number can be designated as an insurance ceiling.
"In some projects it may be a billion US dollars, while in other cases - a hundred million," he said.
Soleimani has also announced that a consortium of domestic insurers has been formed.
Referring to Iran's membership in Asian Reinsurance Corporation (Asian Re) and his position as Vice-Chairman of the Asian Re for 2 years, he said that Iranian insurance industry's activities in the field of reinsurance will be pursued via the corporation's international capacities.
