External debt of Kazakhstan as at July 1, 2019 amounted to $158.3 billion, which is 87.7 percent to the GDP of the country and is an improvement by 0.8 percent points, Trend reports with reference to the data of National Bank of Kazakhstan.
The major share of the external debt accounts for inter-company debt (63.3 percent), external debt of corporate sector before non-affiliated creditors (25.1 percent), public external debt (8 percent), external liabilities of the banking sector (3.6 percent).
Thus, during 1H2019 the external debt of Kazakhstan decreased by $467.6 million.
Public external debt increased by $323 million amounting to $12.6 billion due to the increase of market price of sovereign Eurobonds.
External liabilities of the banking sector decreased by $79.9 million to $5.7 billion due to the increase of deposits on non-residents and spot dates with foreign banks.
External debt of corporate sector before non-affiliated creditors practically did not change ($39.7 billion).
Inter-company debt decreased by $810.6 million to $100.2 billion due to the decrease of loans from foreign companies by major extracting and transport companies.
External debt of state-owned organizations amounted to $21 billion in 1H2019 having decreased by $1.7 billion.
Net external debt of Kazakhstan amounted to $47.7 billion having increased by $806.1 million in 1H2019.
