Kazakhstan Materials 17 August 2011 10:26 (UTC +04:00)

The information and promotion group of the Agency for Religious Affairs has held a meeting with the residents of remote villages in the Almaty region. The group visited the Aksu and Yeskeldy districts whose residents were given answers to all their questions. According to the residents themselves, not everyone has sufficient knowledge in the field of religion and there are a lot of questions, CaspioNet reported.

605 religious associations in the Almaty region have been registered under the law. 405 out of them are organizations representing Islam, 40 Orthodox and 10 Catholic ones. Unfortunately, according to advocacy group members, there are religious groups with regressive trends. Although such associations do not pose a direct threat to the country, they still run their policy which is not always fair. Professional theologists have to solve such tasks today as to protect, to educate and to guide.
