BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 17. The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) signed a frame agreement on the expansion of the Kazakh-Chinese strategic energy cooperation, Trend reports via the Office of Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan.
The document was signed during the meeting between President of China Xi Jinping and Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who is on a state visit to the country.
In addition to this agreement, the sides also boosted energy cooperation by signing a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Energy Administration of China.
Earlier, during the meeting between Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov and Vice President of CNPC Huang Yongzhang, it was noted that the government of Kazakhstan is set to deepen strategic cooperation with the CNPC.
СNPC, one of the most significant strategic partners in the energy industry, has been functioning successfully in Kazakhstan for more than 25 years. Over the years of collaboration, the parties have developed trusting partnerships in the implementation of major projects in all sectors of the oil and gas industry.
