Kyrgyzstan sees increase in mineral production volume

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 26. The volume of mineral production in Kyrgyzstan reached 23.158 billion soms ($263.601 million) from January through June 2023, which is an increase of 6.1 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the minerals accounted for 11.2 percent of Kyrgyzstan's overall industrial production during the specified period.

Notably, there was an increase of 8.3 percent in the production volumes of coal mining, including both stone and brown coal. The production of crude oil and natural gas grew by 6.5 percent in the first half of 2023.

The mining of metallic ores also demonstrated a rise, with production volumes increasing by 5.4 percent. The production of other valuable minerals increased by 20.3 percent.

Overall, the volume of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 207 billion soms ($2.3 billion) from January through June 2023, which is 0.4 percent more than in the same period in 2022.
