BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 18. The average nominal monthly salary in Kyrgyzstan (excluding small enterprises) reached 34,710 soms ($408) from January through May 2024, which is an 11 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the growth rate was observed across all sectors of economic activity.
In particular, the most significant increases were seen in other service activities (41.5 percent), wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (32.8 percent), water supply, waste treatment and disposal, and materials recovery (29.3 percent).
Wage increases were also notable in construction (27.7 percent), real estate sectors (22.2 percent), mining (21.5 percent), professional, scientific, and technical sectors (21.1 percent), transportation and storage (16.6 percent), and financial and insurance activities (16.4 percent).
Meanwhile, the increase in consumer prices and tariffs across the country increased by 2.4 percent in the first half of 2024, compared to the end of 2023.
