TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 25. Uzbekistan has successfully sold gold worth more than $5 billion since the beginning of this year, Trend reports.
According to the presented statistics for the period from January through July 2023, it turned out that Uzbekistan exported the precious metal for a total of $5 billion. It is significantly important to emphasize that this figure doubled over the past year, which amounted to $2 billion.
Representatives of the agency also emphasized that the share of gold in total exports for the reporting period of this year amounted to 37 percent.
Moreover, gold is a key export commodity for Uzbekistan. The country is actively implementing strategies to utilize gold resources to further improve its economic situation.
