The volume of Azerbaijan’s GDP amounted to over 50 billion manats in January-September 2017, which is 0.6 percent less than in the same period of 2016, said a report of the country’s State Statistics Committee.
GDP per capita totaled to almost 5,150 manats.
Volume of Azerbaijan’s GDP in non-oil sector compared to the same period of 2016 has increased by 2.5 percent. Meantime, a decline by 6.5 percent was observed in the oil and gas sector.
Hence, 40.2 percent (20.11 billion manats) of Azerbaijan’s GDP accounted for industrial sphere, 8.67 percent (4.34 billion manats) – for construction, 5.9 percent (2.96 billion manats) – for agriculture, forestry and fishery.
Net taxes on production and import accounted for almost 7.4 percent of Azerbaijan’s GDP.

The transport sector was the most dynamic sector in Azerbaijan in January-September 2017.
According to the State Statistics Committee, as of January-September 2017, value added worth 838.1 million manat was observed in the sector or by 6.2 percent more than in January-September 2016.
The communications sector increased by 5.8 percent in January-September 2017 compared to January-September 2016. GDP reached 3,470.4 million manat in that sector.
The Azerbaijani non-oil industry volume increased by 2.5 percent in January-September 2017, while the oil industry volume dropped by 6.5 percent compared to the same period of 2016.
The total industrial production (a volume of production and rendered industrial services) in Azerbaijan for the period amounted to 28.3 billion manat in January-September 2017, which is by 5.3 percent less than in the same period of 2016.
The volumes of production in the extractive industry reached 70.2 percent, in the processing industry - 24.6 percent, production and distribution of electricity, gas and steam - 4.4 percent, water supply, waste treatment and processing - 0.8 percent in January-September 2017.
Food production increased by 0.7 percent, beverages - 26.9 percent, textile products - 73.8 percent, clothes - 37.9 percent, wood products - 51.8 percent, chemical products - 18.1 percent, pharmaceuticals - 2.4 times, rubber and plastic - 85.2 percent, building materials - 29.3 percent, computers, electronic products - 35 percent, electrical equipment - 65.7 percent, other vehicles - 23.7 percent, furniture - 16.6 percent during the reporting period.
The production of tobacco products declined by 12.8 percent, paper and paperboard - 1.4 percent, leather, leather products, footwear - 21.3 percent, printing products - 38.4 percent, metallurgical products - 13.7 percent, finished metal products - 26.8 percent, installation and repair of machinery and equipment - 49.1 percent in January-September.
The production and distribution of electricity, gas and steam increased by 0.2 percent, while the water supply, waste treatment and processing decreased by 1 percent during the reporting period.
Products worth 421.8 million manats were produced by metallurgical companies in Azerbaijan in January-September 2017, said a report of the country’s State Statistics Committee.
The report says the volume of output of metallurgical industry decreased by 13.7 percent while the production of finished goods fell by 26.8 percent in January-September 2017 compared to the same period of 2016.
Azerbaijan produced 177,900 tons of fittings in January-September 2017, which is 4.5 percent less than in the same period of 2016.
In January-September 2017, 37,400 tons of steel pipes were produced in Azerbaijan, that is by 10.7 percent less than in the same period of 2016.
The volume of steel casting production stood at 299,300 tons in January-September 2017, which is almost 13.1 percent more than in the same period of 2016.
The agricultural production volume in actual prices amounted to 5.29 billion manat in Azerbaijan in January-September 2017, which is by 19.5 percent more than in January-September 2016.
According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee’s report, the crop production increased by 13.0 percent (2,706.4 million manat), while livestock production – 16.6 percent (2,589.2 million manat) in the reporting period.
According to the State Statistics Committee, as of January-September 2017, 31.7 billion manat accounted for the Azerbaijani consumer market, which is by 1.9 percent more than its turnover for January-September 2016.
The monthly consumer expenses are estimated at 362.5 manat per capita in January-September 2017 or by 47.2 manat more compared to January-September 2016.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the prices on consumer goods and tariffs for services increased by 0.7 percent in September 2017 compared to August 2017.
The food prices decreased by 1.4 percent, non-food items – 0.4 percent and paid services increased by 0.1 percent in Azerbaijan during the reporting period.
The foreign trade turnover with 187 countries amounted to $14.32 billion in January-September 2017, or by 7.9 percent less than in the same period of 2016.
The volume of exports decreased by 13.4 percent and amounted to $8.14 billion in January-September 2017 compared to January-September 2016. The volume of import reached $6.18 billion in January-September 2017 which is by 0.5 percent more than in January-September 2016.
Azerbaijan exported 2,874 goods and imported 7,164 different goods.
The black ink of foreign trade balance was estimated at $1.97 billion in January-September 2017, which is by 5.8 times more than in January-September 2016.
According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee, 11.09 billion manat was invested from all financial sources in the development of the economic and social areas of Azerbaijan in January-September 2017, which is by 1 percent less than in January-September 2016.
Some 1,222.3 billion manat was invested in the Azerbaijani economy in September 2017, which is by 3.8 percent less than investments in fixed assets in September 2016.
According to the report, 77.7 percent of investments in fixed assets were made in the construction of production facilities, 16.0 percent - non-production facilities, 6.3 percent - housing construction.
According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee, the nominal income of the population totaled 36.24 billion manat in January-September 2017, which is by 8.0 percent more compared to January-September 2016.
Thus, during the reporting period, the nominal income of the population per capita increased by 6.9 percent and reached 3728,0 manat.
In January-September 2017, the average rate of manat to the U.S. dollar was 1.70 manat versus dollar, to euro – 2.03 manat versus euro, to Russian rouble – 2.95 manat versus 100 rouble.
