Azerbaijani Football Club Accuses Referees of Being Biased

Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 May / Trend corr R. Ergun/ The chief coach of the Garabag Football Club, Turk Rasim Kara, accused the referees of depriving his team of 10 points. "We could have achieved higher scores, but when playing against Baki and Karvan inter clubs the referees deprived us of our 10 points," Kara said to Trend News on 5 May.

In 1996-97, Kara was the chief coach of the Turkish Beshiktash Football Club as well as assistant to the chief coach, Fatih Terim, of the Turkish National Football Club.

According to Kara, his contract with Garabag expires at the end of May. "Within 6 months we have replaced 20 players which was an important role for us during the championships. I have always been a coach striving for the championship title. Therefore, should I stay on with Garabag Football Club, our aim for next season is to win the championship title," Kara said.

Garabag Football Club currently takes 6th place with 33 points. Previously the team beat Standard Football Club scoring 1: 0.

Kara was previously the chief coach of the Khazar-Lankaran Club during which time he won the silver medal.
