BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. The volume of transactions conducted through Azerbaijan’s National Payment System (MÖS) in February 2025 exceeded 45.8 billion manat ($26.9 billion), with the number of transactions surpassing 13.7 million.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank indicates that compared to the same period in 2024, the volume of transactions decreased by 31 billion manat ($18.2 billion), or 40.4 percent, while the number of transactions increased by 1 million, or 7.9 percent.
In February 2024, the volume of transactions in the MÖS reached 76.8 billion manat ($45.1 billion), with the number of transactions exceeding 12.7 million.
Additionally, in February 2025, transactions via the Small Payment System (XÖHKS) amounted to 3.6 billion manat ($2.1 billion), with the number of transactions reaching 13.4 million.
Meanwhile, the volume of transactions via XÖHKS decreased by 187.9 million manat ($110.5 million), or 4.9 percent, compared to February 2024, while the number of transactions increased by 943,100, or 7.6 percent.
To note, the volume of transactions through XÖHKS in February 2024 amounted to 3.8 billion manat ($2.2 billion), with the number of transactions totaling 12.4 million.
