BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. A total of 217.42 million transactions worth 13.33 billion manat ($7.7 billion) were carried out via debit and credit cards in Azerbaijan as of August 1, 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank (CBA) shows that compared to the same period last year, the number of transactions increased by 45.4 million or 26.4 percent, and the volume rose by 1.6 billion manat ($925 million) or 14.1 percent.
During the period, 203.27 million transactions were made via debit cards, totaling 12.53 billion manat ($7.23 billion), reflecting an increase of 28.4 percent in volume and 14.8 percent in value.
Via credit cards, 14.15 million transactions were carried out, amounting to 806 million manat ($466 million), up 3.2 percent in volume and 4.1 percent in value.
The number of active payment cards issued by banks and Azerpost LLC increased by 271,000 compared to the previous month and amounted to 20.91 million by the end of July, which is 14 percent more than the same period last year.
