BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 18. The number of issued Mastercard debit payment cards in Georgia reached over 5.59 million in July 2025, marking the highest level recorded this year, according to data from the National Bank of Georgia obtained by Trend.
The July figure represents a 0.36 percent increase compared to June 2025 (over 5.57 million) and a 1 percent rise from May 2025 (over 5.53 million).
The lowest level this year was observed in January, when Mastercard debit cards totaled 5.17 million, showing growth of more than 420,000 cards since the start of the year.
Overall, the total number of debit payment cards in Georgia amounted to 10.224 million in July 2025. When including both debit and credit cards, the country’s total card issuance exceeded 10.8 million.
In 2024, more than 117.38 million payment cards were issued in Georgia.
