BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 18. The number of issued American Express credit payment cards in Georgia reached 156,935 in July 2025, marking the highest figure recorded this year, Trend reports.
According to data from the National Bank of Georgia, the July figure reflects a steady increase compared to 155,625 in June and 152,654 in May.
Since the start of the year, American Express credit card issuance has grown by over 6 percent, rising from the January low of 147,638.
Overall, the total number of issued credit payment cards in Georgia amounted to 761,484 in July. When including debit cards, total issuance in the country exceeded 10.8 million.
Meanwhile, Georgia issued more than 117.38 million payment cards in 2024, underscoring the steady expansion of the domestic payment card market.
