Over 37,000 tons of products exported by rail in Iran’s Astara district

During the first six months (March 21 - September 22) of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), 37,040 tons of non-oil products were exported by rail in Astara district of Iran’s Gilan province, Astara Customs Director General Rasoul Omidi said, Trend reports via IRNA.

He said that the value of the exported product was $7.03 million and these products were transported by 609 railcars.

He added that ceramics, cement, stone and clinker are among the exported products.

“In the first six months, 113,000 tons of products worth $34.2 million entered the Astara railway terminal and 100,000 tons of products worth $39.9 million were transported via the terminal,” he said.

He noted that the Astara railway terminal hasn’t been connected to the railway in Rasht province and the goods were transported by trucks to various locations in Iran.
