Chinese Elion Group company will help Uzbekistan to combat desertification, Trend reports citing the press service of Uzbekistan’s State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection (Goskomecology).
A meeting was held with company representatives in Goskomecology during which the parties discussed issues related to the establishment and expansion of cooperation, the implementation of joint projects in the Aral Sea region, as well as the opening of a company representative office in Tashkent.
In particular, proposals were voiced on the implementation of a joint project to create a laboratory and a demonstration park to combat desertification in the Aral Sea region, as well as a project on social assistance to the population and improving the environmental situation.
The company is ready to implement environmental projects in other areas, including the creation of protected natural areas, the conservation of flora and fauna, and the development of water purification systems.
Elion Group was founded in 1988 and today is a leader in China in the field of environmental industry, landscaping and desert development. It also works in the field of restoration of damaged water and land resources, clean energy sources and the green economy.
Over the years, the company has mastered more than 600,000 hectares of deserts in China. Its turnover is about $63 billion.
