Two small-scale power plants have been launched in the Andimeshk County of Iran's Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran), the Managing Director of Khuzestan Regional Electric Company Mahmoud Dasht-e-Bozorg said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
The director emphasized each of these stations has the potential to generate 25 megawatts of electricity.
Dasht-e- Bozorg added the purpose of the construction of these stations is to increase the capacity of electricity generation in the northern part of Khuzestan Province and to maintain electrical stability in the electricity network.
According to the director, Iran's MAPNA Group has built the two stations at a cost of 9 trillion rials (about $214 million).
"These small-scale power plants were built in the Andimeshk industrial park for less than eight months. The electricity generated at the power plants is purchased by the Khuzestan Regional Electric Company under a guarantee,” he said.
