BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 3. Lending standards for general consumer loans remained unchanged, with tightening conditions for credit cards in the second quarter of 2024, Trend reports.
According to a survey conducted by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) on lending activity, unlike the previous quarter, there were no changes in standards for salary loans.
The survey results indicate that banks expect the conditions for salary loans to remain the same in the third quarter of 2024, while credit card standards are anticipated to continue tightening.
Meanwhile, the survey data showed an overall increase in demand for consumer loans.
The survey participants noted that this increase was primarily driven by demand for salary loans and loans for purchasing household appliances.
Banks forecast that demand for general consumer loans will remain stable in the next quarter of 2024.
