The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry invested 33 million manat in the ICT sector and postal services, the report said.
The amount of investments, made by enterprises and bodies of the ministry in January-March, was 23.14 million manat.
As of the first quarter, the country put into operation new automatic telephone exchanges with total capacity of 1,937 numbers. According to the statistical indices of the ministry, today the capacity of the network throughout the country is 1.665.128 units.
Roughly 688,000 manat were invested in the reconstruction of the regional telecommunication units of the Ministry and 1.1 million manat - in the modernization of the Baku Telephone Network.
The Baku Telephone Communication will complete the work on electronization of the entire telephone network soon. At present, 438/439/494/495 automatic telephone exchanges have been reconstructed. The capacity of each of them is 20,000 units.
At present, the number of analog numbers 494/495 is 8,500 and 438/439 - 11,000 numbers.
The Baku Telephone Communication will fully transfer to the electronic form by late April.
According to the statistics from the ministry, at present, the total number of telephones falling to every 100 people, is 16.26 units all over the country.
