Flights on various international routes to be launched in Kazakhstan

Flights on 14 new international routes will be launched in Kazakhstan in 2020 within the framework of the ‘open skies’ regime, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development Berik Kamaliyev said, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media.

The list of companies implementing flights to Kazakhstan may be expanded via the following companies:

- Qatar Airways: Doha - Nur-Sultan and Doha – Almaty;

- LOT: Almaty – Warsaw;

- Salam Air: Almaty – Muscat;

- Belavia: Aktau – Minsk;

- Jazeera Airways: from Kuwait to Kazakhstan;

- Air Asia X: Kuala Lumpur – Almaty – London;

- Israir: Tel Aviv – Almaty;

- Air Astana: Almaty – Paris and Almaty – Mumbai;

- SCAT: Shymkent – Jeddah, Shymkent – Medina, Nur-Sultan – Delhi.

The number of flights implemented on the routes Warsaw - Nur-Sultan (LOT) and Minsk – Almaty (Belavia) will also be increased to seven times a week.

In 2019, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym Jomart Tokayev has ordered to increase a number of international flights implemented from Nur-Sultan.

According to Tokayev, the number of direct international flights operated from country’s capital Nur-Sultan does not exceed 30 routes, which is not enough.

Furthermore, Kazakhstan's Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov said that Qatar Airways (Doha city, 2020), Emirates (Dubai, 2021), China Eastern (Shanghai, 2021), Ural Airlines, Pobeda and other air companies are to start operating in Kazakhstan.
