Cargo transportation through Iran's Shahid Beheshti International Airport up

The volume of cargo transported through the Shahid Beheshti International Airport in the Isfahan Province (central Iran) increased by 29 percent, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.

According to the statistics, about 7,510 tons of cargo were transported through this airport in 6 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 5,800 tons.

“In addition, a total of 661,963 passengers were transported through Shahid Beheshti Airport in six months, which is an increase of 31 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 504,976 passengers were transported through this airport in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Within 6 months, 8,840 passenger planes were received by Shahid Beheshti Airport. This is an increase of 37 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the figure amounted to 6,460 in the same months last Iranian year.

Reportedly, Shahid Beheshti International Airport is located on an area of about 1,000 hectares.
