Kyrgyzstan reports robust economic growth for 9M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. The economy of Kyrgyzstan significantly grew from January through September 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the committee, Kyrgyzstan's GDP in the first 9 months of this year grew by 7.2 percent compared to the same period of last year - up to 597 billion soms ($7.3 billion).

During this period, the industrial production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to more than 299 billion soms ($3.6 billion), which is an increase of 16.6 percent over the same period in 2021.

Growth in the industrial sector in the first 9 months of this year was due to an increase in production:

- basic metals - by 37.9 percent;

- wooden and paper products - by 28.2 percent;

- petroleum products - by 13.1 percent;

- food and tobacco products - by 12.1 percent;

- extraction of minerals - by 8.7 percent.

Earlier the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov reported that the country's GDP in 2022 is projected at 824 billion soms ($10.3 billion), and for 2024 - 926 billion soms ($11.6 billion).
