BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 15. Kyrgyzstan exported 14,389 tons of cement to Uzbekistan in January 2024, Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee indicates that this figure increased by 17 times compared to 802.9 tons in January 2023. The value of the exports amounted to $463,031, an increase of 18 times compared to $24,673 in the corresponding month of 2023.
In the first month of the current year, Uzbekistan was the sole country importing cement from Kyrgyzstan.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan produced 97,900 tons of cement in January of the current year, which is 42.1 percent more than in January 2023 (68,900 tons).
Kyrgyzstan's trade with Uzbekistan totaled $43.764 million in January 2024, which is a 39 percent rise compared to the same month in 2023 ($31.475 million).
Exports to Uzbekistan amounted to $16.970 million in January 2024, an increase of 32.9 percent from the $12.768 million recorded in January 2023. Imports reached $26.793 million in January 2024, which is an increase of 43.2 percent compared to $18.707 million in January 2023.
To note, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover totaled $1.168 billion in January 2024, which is a 36.8 percent increase compared to January 2023. Exports amounted to $181.3 million, a 46.6 percent increase year-on-year. Imports increased by 35.1 percent, reaching $987.5 million.
