DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 27. Flights from Dushanbe to Khorog will resume in Tajikistan on September 30, Parviz Shodmonzoda, General Director of Tajik Air national company, told local media, Trend reports.
He said that the airline will operate three flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The flight duration is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.
One-way tickets will be priced at 900 somoni (approximately $84). The flights will be conducted using an AN-28 aircraft with a capacity of 17 passengers.
The plane has undergone inspection, maintenance, and upgrades by specialists from Kyiv and the Ukrainian Antonov Design Bureau aircraft manufacturing and services company.
Shodmonzoda also indicated plans for future flights to Lakhsh, Garm, Kulob, Vanj, Rushan, Ayni, and Ishkashim.
Regular air service between Dushanbe and Khorog has been suspended since October 2017, when the last AN-28 aircraft was taken out of service. The primary obstacle to restoring flights has been the lack of suitable aircraft for the mountainous terrain.
