Uzbek Central Bank details regional breakdown of mortgage allocations for 10M2023

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 16. Uzbekistan has allocated 13.9 trillion soums ($1.13 billion) worth of mortgage loans from January through October of 2023, Trend reports.

According to data given by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, mortgage loan allocation in the main market accounted for 8.08 trillion soums ($656.9 million), while it reached roughly 5.82 trillion soums ($431.1) in the secondary market.

As of November 1, 2023, the total balance of mortgage loans has surpassed 56.2 trillion soums ($456.9).

List of top Uzbek regions by mortgage loan disbursements looks as followed:

Tashkent - 4.33 trillion soums ($352 million)

Ferghana Region - 1.1 trillion soums ($89.4 million)

Tashkent Region - 1.05 trillion soums ($85.3 million)

Navoi Region - 1.03 trillion soums ($83.7 million)

Meanwhile, the latest available data shows that the value of loans issued to individuals in Uzbekistan reached 105.1 trillion soums ($9.2 billion) as of March 2023.

According to the Central Bank, the value of loans issued to individuals has increased by 48.1 percent compared to the figure for March 1, 2022 (70.9 trillion soums, or $6.2 billion).

From the total value of loans issued to individuals in the corresponding period, mortgage loans accounted for 47.6 trillion soums ($4.1 billion), consumer loans for 25.5 trillion soums ($2.2 billion), microloans for 15.3 trillion soums ($1.3 billion), loans for business development for 14.1 trillion soums ($1.2 billion), etc.

At the same time, the value of loans issued to legal entities as of March 1, 2023, reached 292.4 trillion soums ($25.6 billion).
