Georgian President’s administration: Intruders entered palace

Georgia, Tbilisi, April 25 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia /

The State Security Service officers subordinate to the Prime Minister allowed two unidentified persons to gain access to the Server and VIP rooms at the presidential palace where it is possible to listen to conversations and make illegal recordings, head of the presidential administration Andro Barnov claimed at a briefing on Wednesday.

"These people entered those secret areas with the permission of the security service using the doors which can be used only by the president, the patriarch and the prime minister," he said.

Barnov wondered who and why anyone needed to organise the entry of these people who are unable to explain to the presidential administration, who they are and why they entered the palace.

"The new government stated that the president is completely safe after the security service has been withdrawn, but today's event indicates the opposite and I hope the appropriate agencies will find out who and why the intruders were in the palace," the head of the presidential administration said.

It should be noted that on Wednesday, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili left for the United States on a working visit.
