SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) has not demolished any residential buildings located on development and manufacturing grounds, head of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev told journalists on Monday.
According to him, currently, the State Oil Company only fights against the construction of new buildings.
"Buildings that were constructed on industrial lands previously, have not been demolished," Abdullayev stated.
According to him, earlier, SOCAR has provided all the necessary data, coordinates and lists related to the illegal constructions to the State Commission, and in the near future the government will make a decision on the matter.
In late June 2012, by decree of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, a commission was established to resolve issues related to houses and other buildings, erected in the protected zones of pipelines, high-voltage electrical networks, transport infrastructure objects and water on the land designated as oil and gas fields.
