ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 1. Kazakhstan's production of natural and associated gas in 2024 increased by 1 percent and amounted to 9,554 million cubic meters.
Data obtained by Trend from KazMunayGas' latest reports shows that 2,286 million cubic meters (24 percent) are from operating assets and 7,268 million cubic meters (76 percent) are from megaprojects.
“The gas production figures represent the actual volume of gas extracted, including gas reinjection into the reservoir and own consumption. Gas reinjection is used to maintain reservoir pressure, which ensures a high level of oil production,” said KazMunayGas.
The volume of marketable gas production in 2024 was 5,255 million cubic meters, of which 1,723 million cubic meters came from operational assets, and 3,532 million cubic meters from mega-projects. Compared to 2023, KazMunayGas' marketable gas production increased by 125 million cubic meters, or 2.4 percent, cumulatively.
