ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 2. Today, the Akim (governor) of the Abai region of Kazakhstan, Berik Uali, met with members of a delegation from the Changzhi State High-Tech Industrial Zone of China, Trend reports.
The delegation included representatives from companies working in construction, mining, electronics, automotive, and bridge construction.
In the course of the meeting, Uali introduced the Chinese guests to the potential and opportunities of the region, highlighting that joint investment projects could be implemented in transportation logistics, machine engineering, construction, and agriculture.
"Being a major transportation center, the Abai region has enormous logistical possibilities. There is a chance to establish railway logistics hubs in the cities of Semey and Ayagoz. The regional center needs a bridge. There is a machine engineering plant in Semei, and we can also collaborate in this area. The issue of building stations for wind and hydro energy generation is also relevant. The region has a manufacturing zone. We are ready to work with investors who want to implement social facilities and infrastructure projects. We plan to visit China in mid-May and hold negotiations," he said .
The Chinese side, in turn, expressed interest in implementing joint projects in the Abai region and made proposals for opening joint ventures and investing in infrastructure and industrial projects. Earlier, representatives of foreign companies had implemented several projects in Almaty, Astana, and Shymkent.
The Changzhi State High-Tech Industrial Zone is located in Shanxi Province and is an important center for the development of biomedicine, industrial equipment, electronics, information technology, and logistics. It is one of the key zones for economic and technological development in the region.
