ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 21. The National Bank of Kazakhstan recorded a significant increase in international money transfers through IMTS (International Money Transfer Systems) in April 2025, Trend reports.
The analytics indicate that the aggregate transaction volume
surged to 60.1 billion tenge (approximately $114.2 million),
reflecting a robust 20.3 percent uptick relative to the metrics
from March. The volume of transactions experienced an
uptick—151,300 operations, reflecting a 4.3 percent increase.
IMTS, encompassing platforms such as Zolotaya Korona, Western
Union, MoneyGram, and UPT, are extensively leveraged by the
populace of Kazakhstan for facilitating both cross-border and
intra-national remittances. Nonetheless, an astonishing
preponderance—95.2 percent in terms of quantity and 95.5 percent in
volumetric metrics—was dispatched internationally.
This expansion can be ascribed to cyclical variables, augmented
remittances from expatriate labor, or fluctuations in currency
valuations. Economists additionally highlight the equilibrium
achieved in the exchange rates of the US dollar and the Russian
ruble, thereby rendering the remittance of funds internationally
more advantageous.
