The number of depositors of savings worth over a million lira in the Turkish banks increased in January-September 2012. According to a report of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) of Turkey, posted on its website on Tuesday, a list of this category of depositors increased by 6,600 people and hit 51,100 people.
The total number of bank depositors in Turkey in January-September increased by 960,600 people compared to the same period of 2011 and reached 52.8 million people.
According to BDDK, 96.3 percent of depositors have deposits worth over 10,000 lira.
