Iran's budget deficit for the new Iranian year (starts March 21, 2021) has been reduced by 40 percent, said the spokesman of the parliament Budget Integration Commission.

"About 40 percent of operating budget deficit has been compensated by an increase of sustainable incomes. The Budget Integration Commission has solved the issue during the review of budget plan and 40 percent of government budget deficit would be resolved by an increase of tax and sustainable revenues without pressuring people," said Rahim Zare, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

He went on to note that during reviewing sessions, the share of oil export and oil bonds sales in government revenues has been reduced and their debts would be less in the future.

"There is around $119 billion worth of saving accounts in the treasury that one-fifth of them are to be used in providing loans for marriage and running a business. A total of $85 billion has been predicted to finance housing construction that would include 400,000 housing units in villages and cities with a population less than 25,0000 and build 800,000 houses in big cities. The price of gasoline and diesel fuel in new Iranian year has not been increased," he added.
