BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 2. Trade turnover between Iran and Pakistan over the past Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025) increased by 13.6 percent compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Hamidreza Karbalaei Esmaeili, Deputy Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, told reporters, Trend reports.
Esmaeili highlighted that throughout the reporting period, the
bilateral trade volume between the two nations reached $3.13
billion, with Iranian exports to Pakistan constituting $2.42
billion, whereas imports from Pakistan represented $706 million.
This indicates a 3.5x advantageous trade surplus favoring Iran.
The Iranian representative articulated that the Islamic Republic
predominantly engaged in the exportation of hydrocarbon
derivatives, dairy powder, and date fruits to the Islamic Republic
of Pakistan, whilst concurrently importing basmati rice, a spectrum
of consumable lipids, and protein sources from its adjacent
territory.
Esmaeili further articulated that in the initial trimester of the
ongoing Iranian fiscal year (spanning from March 21 to June 21,
2025), the bilateral trade volume between Iran and Pakistan
culminated at $594 million, reflecting a contraction of 15.6
percent relative to the corresponding timeframe of the preceding
year ($704 million).
“In the three-month period, Iran exported goods worth $420 million to Pakistan and imported goods worth $174 million from Pakistan,” he said.
According to the Iranian Customs Administration, the total value of Iran’s non-oil trade during the first three months of the current Iranian year stood at approximately $24.7 billion, amounting to 43.5 million tons of goods.
