BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 2. Azerbaijan's foreign public debt amounted to $5.01 billion as of July 1, 2025, making up 6.5 percent of the projected GDP of 130.7 billion manat ($76.9 billion) by 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the Ministry of Finance shows that 41.9 percent of Azerbaijan's foreign public debt portfolio for the reporting period falls on the share of commitments raised by the ministry, acting on behalf of the government, to close the budget deficit, and 58.1 percent - on the share of commitments raised by other executive bodies under programs and projects.
