BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 2. Kazakhstan’s solar photovoltaic and wind power capacities show steady growth over the past decade with modest declines in recent years.
Data obtained by Trend from the Eni World Energy Review 2025 summarizes Kazakhstan’s solar PV and wind power capacities from 2010 through 2024.

Kazakhstan’s solar PV capacity expanded significantly from 57 MW in 2010 to a peak of 1,306 MW in 2022. However, the sector experienced a reduction of around 8.4 percent in 2023, which may be linked to operational changes or adjustments in capacity accounting.
Wind power capacity also grew substantially, from 72 MW in 2010 to 1,440 MW in 2022, supported by increased development of onshore wind projects. A slight year-on-year decrease of 2.0 percent was recorded in 2023, possibly due to maintenance, grid constraints, or reporting revisions.
Over the decades subsequent to its inception in 1953, Eni has engaged in a multitude of sectors encompassing contracting, nuclear energy, power generation, mineral extraction, chemical processing, polymer production, refining and distribution apparatus, the hospitality domain, as well as the textile sector and media dissemination.
