(autoinsidernews) - Volkswagen has revealed a concept for its upcoming Tiguan compact SUV, called the Concept Tiguan, ahead of its official unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Building on the SUV-coupe Concept A that revealed some of its styling elements, the Concept Tiguan is a far more conventional SUV featuring baby Touareg styling, and hints strongly at what the production vehicle will look like when it is unveiled early next year, reports Trend.

The Concept Tiguan features a unique twist on Volkswagen's new corporate face, with a two tone, dark-anodised front grille, but other items are more typical of VW's new corporate design language including the headlamps and taillamps.

The concept features VW's new BLUETEC Clean TDI diesel engine, which was developed with Audi and Mercedes-Benz, and is being presented for the first time at the LA show. The BLUETEC Clean TDI is design to meet the strictest emissions standards in the world.

More details on the Tiguan will be revealed in the first quarter of 2007 and the first production models are expected to be available by the end of 2007.
