JSC Caucasus Energy and Infrastructure (CEI) interested in the Black Sea High Voltage Transmission Line Network (Turkey-Georgia 500kV transmission line) project, the company reported on Wednesday.
Responding to CEI shareholder's interest regarding the progress of Black Sea High Voltage Transmission Line Network construction works, CEI contacted Energotrans, a company 100% owned by Georgian State Electro System (GSE) executing the transmission line project.
In February 2011, Energotrans launched the construction of a 500/400/220 kV Akhaltsikhe substation located near the Turkish border.
The substation is the key component of the Black Sea High Voltage Transmission Line Network project. The infrastructural works, such as access roads, workers dwellings and a concrete factory have already been completed. The foundations for the substation equipment and buildings are in the final stages of completion.
The construction of high voltage overhead power lines, which stretch 247 km across South-West and South-East Georgia, is also on schedule, with most of the utility poles already erected.
