Production and consumption of petroleum products decreases in Turkey

Production of gasoline and diesel fuel in Turkey in March 2013 decreased by 7.2 percent compared with the previous month, reaching 715,200 tons, Turkey's Energy Market Regulation Authority (EPDK) reported on Friday.

According to the report, the production of petroleum products during this period decreased by 9.4 percent, reaching 1.4 million tons.

In January-March 2013, production of petroleum products fell by 11 percent compared to the same period in 2012, reaching 4.3 million tons.

Gasoline consumption in Turkey in March fell by 2.7 percent compared to the previous month, reaching 137,000 tons as. Diesel consumption in March fell by 1.5 percent to 1.26 million tons.
In January-March 2012, consumption of gasoline increased by one percent, amounting to 390,000 tons. Consumption of diesel fuel for the period increased by seven percent to 3.3 million tons.

The average price of gasoline in Turkey in March decreased by 1.7 percent compared with the previous month, totaling 4.76 lire per liter. The price of diesel fuel decreased by 0.5 percent to 4.19 lire per liter.

The official exchange rate on May 17 is 1.8227 TRY / USD.
