BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 4. Iran’s Jey Oil Refining Company put its new bitumen production and storage facility into use in Hormozgan Province in the south the country, on February 4, 2023, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.
Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji, Deputy Oil Minister and the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Mohsen Khojasteh Mehr and other officials attended the event dedicated to the launch facilities.
A total of 600,000 tons of bitumen will be produced in the mentioned bitumen production facility per year. Along with the mentioned facility, a storage facility with a capacity of 22,000 tons was pun into use. About $20 million was spent on launched these bitumen production and storage facilities.
The company's bitumen production and export capacity has increased with the launch of this facility.
Iran’s Jey Oil Refining Company was established in 2003 by Iran’s Oil Industry Pension Fund. The company has 4 production plants and the capacity to produce 2.4 million tons of bitumen per year.
