BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. The average number of users per payment terminal in Azerbaijan, including ATMs and POS terminals, decreased by 6.17 percent from January through April 2022, compared to the same period last year - up to 3,800, Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic (CBAR).
According to CBAR, the average monthly amount of transactions per ATM reached 768,060 manat ($451,800) or 3,320 transactions, which is 20.7 percent more than the same period last year.
The average monthly amount of one transaction through an ATM in a specified period amounted to 231 manat ($135.8), and the average monthly amount of transactions through one POS-terminal – 7,500 manat ($4,411).
The average monthly size of one transaction through the POS terminal was 39.2 manat ($23).
A total of 2,933 ATMs operated in Azerbaijan from January through April 2022, of which 1,558 were in Baku and 1,375 were in other cities and regions of the country.
The number of ATMs in country increased by 5.8 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
The number of POS terminals in Azerbaijan during this period amounted to 67,964 (an increase of 15.1 percent over the year).
Some 45,412 of these are installed in Baku, 22,552 - in other cities and regions of Azerbaijan.
