BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 26. The loan portfolio of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) projects in Azerbaijan was estimated at 871 million euros as of October 31, 2024, Trend reports.
The EBRD designates the loan portfolio for the implementation of 30 projects.
“The majority of the portfolio (91 percent, or 792 million euros) is aimed at investments in sustainable infrastructure, six percent (49 million euros) in the corporate sector, and three percent (30 million euros) in investments in financial institutions,” the EBR's statement reads.
Overall, the Bank has invested over 3.711 billion euros in Azerbaijan on 191 projects.
The volume of operating assets in Azerbaijan as of October 31 this year increased by 0.3 percent, or two million euros, compared to the indicator as of July 31, which amounted to 666 million euros.
To note, the EBRD has been cooperating with Azerbaijan since 1992 and is the country's leading investor.
