Kazakhstan sees increase in wholesale trade volume in 7M2024

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 12. The volume of wholesale trade in Kazakhstan amounted to 22.3 trillion tenge (about $46.4 billion) from January through July 2024, Trend reports.

According to data from the country's National Bureau of Statistics, this figure increased by 4.4 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

Non-food products and industrial products for industrial and technical purposes prevailed in wholesale trade (79.7 percent).

As of August 1, 2024, the volume of inventory of trading enterprises in wholesale trade amounted to 2.17 trillion tenge (about $4.5 billion), in trading days - 39 days.

The largest share in the total volume of wholesale trade in the country from January through July 2024 falls on Almaty (36.8 percent), Astana (15.8), Atyrau (15.6 percent) and Karaganda regions (6.2 percent).

In addition to this, the index of physical volume of the trading industry from January through July 2024 increased by 4.9 percent year-on-year.

A significant share of the total industry volume falls on wholesale trade, the share of which is 67.4 percent; retail trade is 32.2 percent.
